Introduction
This post opens up a very important concept and way of thinking that can revolutionize your life. Whether you are a content creator, attorney, blue-collar worker or a farmer. This can place you in a position where the system you run will make a difference in your life.
Money is a store of that value. Your compensation depends on the value you can create and exchange for money in society.
Myron Golden’s four levels of value are an amazing way to understand your position in the value system of the world. According to the four levels of value, where you are on the value system determines how much value you can exchange – in terms of your income. Below are the four levels of value explained in reverse order:
Level 1: Implementation
The implementation level is where we have persons who does that actual work. For example, the factory floor workers, the baker, the bank teller, the hands-on person who actually gets the work done. Hope you get the idea.
At this stage, the implementer, basically, usually sells their time and skills to solve actual problems in exchange for money-which is a store of value.
Most people begin from this level, but the downside is that there is only so much time in the day, and you have only so much ability to work. This puts a limit on how much time you can work and how much effort you can exert at work.
No matter how long you work or how hard you work, there is a ceiling on your earning potential. Finally, at this level, no work means no pay, even in the high paying occupations such as medical doctor, lawyer or engineer.
Entrepreneurs who do all the work themselves can also be said to be implementers.
Level 2: Unification
This is the level of managing the people who actually do the actual work, or the implementers. The greatest resource or skill required at this level is management skills to supervise the implementers to deliver good results, on time and within budget.
The unifier brings the workers and the employer to the dance floor. The unifier is well compensated for being the middle-man or middle-woman, way above the compensation of the implementers.
When work is too big for one person to do, you have to hire other implementers to do the work while you become the unifier or manager.
Most people get to this level out of sheer necessity. Unifiers can also be known as leverag-ers, because they outsource tasks to implementers, freeing their time to do the more important not-to-be-outsourced tasks. Examples of unifiers could be engineers or doctors who have moved into management positions.
A lawyer who has made partner could also be considered a unifier, as well as an entrepreneur who gets work and outsources it to other people. Unifiers’ advantage over the implementers is that they have more free time and can increase their earnings by getting more work and employing more workers, however, they cannot scale their income beyond a certain limit.
Level 3: Communicators
This is the level of communicating between the unifier and the implementer to create wealth.
Communicators are the most paid people in the world because they use their messages to cause change in people. An example an “A-Class” public speakers, actors or actresses and CEO’s such as Steve Jobs, Kevin Systrom or Seth Godin.
Level 4: Imagination
Steve Jobs also fall into this category. He imagines a product that is not yet in existence and outsources the work to the unifiers and implementers to do.
After they have done it right, he promotes it with his communication skills at Apple’s new product events.
Two resources are required at this level to make big money, and that is the mind and money. Investors, forex brokers, and some entrepreneurs are in this category or level.
Bill gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett are imaginators.
Imaginators create systems that work for them whether they go to work or not. They make massive passive incomes with their mind and or their money invested.
Conclusion to the 4 levels of value at work
Look at the results in your life and ask yourself which level are you operating on? Are you satisfied with your results? If you are satisfied, then well done. But if you are not satisfied, then change your operating system to a better level you are comfortable with.
Some people operate on both communication and imagination levels, while others operate on both implementation and unifier level. Elon must operate on three levels such as unifier, communication and imagination.
This lesson on the four levels of wealth by Myron Golden is similar to Robert Kiyosaki’s cashflow quadrants: The first level is Employee, the second is Self-employed, the third is Business Owner and the fourth is Investor. Kiyosaki’s cashflow quadrant is equally worth looking into if you are interested in financial freedom.
There is no problem starting from the implementer level, if only you can think outside the box and rise to the unifier level in a few short years. Some people find it hard to rise to another level because “sometimes people will be physically diligent, so they can maintain a state of mental laziness” – Myron Golden.
Apply this way of thinking to your work in life. And do your best to max out the level you are on to move to the next level. Self-reflect on your work and find the perfect balance for the success you seek. See you at the TOP!
