As stated in the previous post How to Become a Content-Generating Machine Without AI – Part 1, generating content can be a daunting task. In this post, which is the sequel to the first post, we delve into sources of generating ideas for content, be it video, email, blog post, tweets, ebooks or any other content for that matter.
Video courses and or lectures
Do you know or have you experienced any video courses and lectures on TTC or Udemy before? The sheer amount of knowledge and information being portrayed there is amazing. Masterclass in one such place where you can get awesome masterclasses from the “crème de la crème” of certain topics. Do not forget Coursera and EdX. Here is a list of courses and lecture sites, some are free and some are paid.
Coursera – I did Learning How to Learn and Grow to Greatness I and II on this site.
EdX – I tried How to Code: Simple Data from this site, although I couldn’t complete it yet.
MIT OpenCourseWare – Offers free online course materials from MIT.
Open Yale University Courses – free and open access to courses taught by distinguished scholars at Yale.
TTC’s The Great Courses – I did a few courses from TTC: Effective Research Methods for Any Project, Influence, Mastering Life’s Most Powerful Skill, Your Deceptive Mind, High School Mathematics, and etcetera. I still have lots of courses from TTC that I will learn once I have some time on my hands.
Udemy – Is a teaching and learning marketplace with thousands of courses.
YouTube – Also has courses on anything in the world. YouTube is the world’s free university.
Music and artistic pieces
Music and almost any artistic pieces such as paintings, carvings, and artefacts, can also be an idea for content generation. Just watching art from any part of the world can bring out your creative juice.
You can get poetry and phrases from songs that touch you enough to be the catalyst for a novel or any other content. Even just rhythm can also do the magic. Open yourself and get tuned up for creating.
Religious teachings
Religious teachers have the knack for getting your emotions up and your mind racing with ideas. Use this as a start of creating something for the world. Whether from the Christian Denomination, Islam, Eastern Religions, etc. Don’t put any limit on yourself.
News either on TV or Radio
News from any sources can also give you enough to create a whole content. Creativity is everywhere and you can weave news items into your article, blog post, video or novel. News abound with stories and these stories are yours to twist, edit and use for content creation.
Dreams and visions
Call it what you may, dreams or visions from another world can also be your source of idea for content. What if you wrote down all the dreams you have had and embellished them with dialogue, you would be amazed how many scenes you would have for a novel or vlog.
Children
Children can be witty, doing and saying all sorts of things that you can use to create content.
Your old blog posts
Your old or previous blog posts can be a source of ideas for generating content. You can pick a phrase or content from your blog as a topic for another new fresh content.
You can write about the mood or life situation that you were in while writing that content. Take it anywhere you want, the materials are your canvas, the audience is your spectators.
