Monetization is about earning money from your content. We have all read and watched videos about successful blog and their large earnings. Most of these blogs write posts about their earnings with charts, statistics and data.
A few lessons picked up from some of these blogs indicate that some monetization techniques pay much better than others. For example, some swear by Google Adsense earnings and others by other advertising platforms based on their profitability experience with these platforms.
While you are putting out quality content to get more audience, these advertisers may be grabbing your audience’s attention to third party websites through distracting ads – ads that you have no control over.
Their payout is even more discouraging for the efforts you may be putting in. So why don’t you take matters into your own hands?
I am new to the content marketing blogging scene and do not have much data to share with you. However, I can tell you with experience from my other websites that, two monetization methods that work 100% of the time is e-books and e-courses.
Whether are you an independent content creator or a company, both e-books and e-courses can be a great way to create relationship with people through knowledge sharing.
A content creator selling e-books on a niche topic relevant to his or her audience can cement his expertise and gain more visitors. People want to learn stuff that solve their problems. If you have the solution, put it in an e-book and share it with the world.
As a business that is sharing an industry e-book report with prospects and customers, it builds people’s confidence in the firm’s products and services. For example, sharing an e-book on industry awards won by a firm or a new upgrade to a company’s products, shows how prestigious, innovative and transparent a company is.
E-books
E-books are the best passive income opportunity for content marketers and makes a great information product for visionary firms looking to satisfy the information needs of their customers.
Putting together a company e-book report or writing an e-book is no easy task. A small quality e-book takes a lot of effort, time, research, and skills to put together.
Any energy put into the endeavor of writing e-book is paid in cash or loyalty by the audience that consume the information.
Give it a short. Share something with your audience on your website through an e-book and see the long-term results it gets you.
E-courses
E-courses can be in video or textual form. It is even more harder to put together than an e-book if you are not a teacher or lecturer. It also demands more skills and effort to put together.
E-courses are more engaging than e-books, as it create a deeper relationship between the creator and the audience. Because people don’t spend hard cash to enrol into an e-course and not put effort into completing it. While with e-books, they can download it for free or buy it, but not have the time to read it.
People love e-courses and are quick to pull out their credit or debit card to purchase the course. The interactive nature of e-courses ensures the audience get direct access to course creators or facilitators to ask questions and share ideas.
Conclusion
Having both e-books and e-courses on the same niche topic for your audience is a great combination. Visually and auditory-oriented audience may choose the e-courses, while self-directed audience may choose the e-books.
Price variation of the two products can also determine which one is affordable for different audience types. When you get hooked to these two methods of monetization, you will gain momentum to be able to create more of these products or services.
Because the rewards are not only in cash, but in being fulfilled at the end of the day, knowing that you have impacted the lives of people positively.
